German energy company EnBW Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg AG (ETR:EBK) has connected an 80 MW solar park to the grid, which is considered the largest in the southwestern state of Baden-Württemberg.
The power plant was commissioned on schedule, approximately one year after construction began, and significantly below the estimated costs, EnBW said on Wednesday.
The photovoltaic farm is located in the municipality of Langenenslingen and is equipped with 146,016 modules that will generate enough electricity to cover the annual consumption of approximately 30,000 households. The installation covers an area of approximately 80 hectares (197.7 acres) and is connected to the 110 kV grid via its own substation.
EnBW installed the capacity without using state subsidies and invested ‘tens of millions of euros’. The energy company handled all technical planning for the project and obtained a building permit in summer 2023. Construction began in February last year.
The grand opening took place in July 2025.
EnBW, based in Karlsruhe, has renewable energy assets with a capacity of approximately 1.7 GW under construction. By 2030, renewable sources will account for 75% to 80% of installed production capacity, compared to approximately 60% today.
